Mission: Youth and Young Adult
The Pennsylvania Conference Youth Department is committed to empowering and enabling young people to live out loud for God by providing opportunities to show people who God is and how much He’s done for them. Through our summer mission programs, youth and young adults can impact people for eternity while earning money for school and growing in their own relationship with and understanding of God.
Cool Camp staff introduces children and their families to Jesus through an all-day, week-long summer day camp experience at local churches throughout Pennsylvania. Team members provide fun learning experiences for kids: stories, games, skits, activities, and an afternoon at the local pool. Staff members learn to trust Jesus to lead and direct the camp and watch as He leads children into a life-long relationship with Him through them. Each team spends a week in one location, playing with, teaching, and befriending children for Christ, then heads to a new location. Throughout July, each team will present the message of Christ in a fun and dynamic way in four different communities. This ministry impacts the lives of the young adults who make up the teams, the lives of the children they share Jesus with, and the homes of these children as they share what they’ve learned.

At Laurel Lake, we have the privilege of teaching campers the value of a passionate spirituality, the importance in being thoughtful of the world around them, and the benefit of having serious fun. Through a variety of engaging activities like nature, horsemanship and swimming, we take the opportunity to connect for the purpose of enhancing the lives of our campers. Through the thought provoking and intentional programming, we seek to impress campers with a Christ-centered message and we pray that the message they get at Laurel Lake Summer Camp will be carried back to families and communities.

Pennsylvania Youth Challenge
Pennsylvania Youth Challenge (PYC) is a devoted team of young people who are on a mission for nine weeks during the summer in communities across Pennsylvania. PYC empowers young people, ages 16 through college-aged, to share their faith and earn tuition money by sharing Christian books, called magabooks, door-to-door and participating in community kindness projects. Team members seek to bless the lives of those they meet door-to-door by sharing God’s love for them through conversation, prayer, and the distribution of high-quality books for healthy living, families and spiritual growth.
